We’ve had a wonderful week filled with Chanukah preparations and fun activities!
We created beautiful costumes using color resist art for our Chanukah Family Celebration.
We practiced counting the candles on the menorah.
We also painted menorah art with ribbons and built Chanukah shapes using colorful blocks.
We did an experiment with fire using candles and glasses to show how oxygen is needed to flame the fire. In dramatic play, we became firefighters, using hoses, hats, and fire extinguishers to “put out” pretend fires.
We even used shaving cream to extinguish fires on our toy playhouses while learning about fire safety. We are excited to get a visit from the fire department on Monday!
The week wouldn’t be complete without some delicious Chanukah baking! Everyone had so much fun making Chanukah-shaped cookies topped with blue and white sprinkles—yum!
Our letter for this week is Hh and we created a collaborative handprint art.
For the Hebrew letter Chet we make Chanukah Latkas! We mixed and grated and created yummy oily treats!
We also enjoyed music with Benny, yoga with Ms. Ace, and Playball with Coach Anthony to strengthen our gross motor skills.
We ended our week with our school wide Shabbat Party, challah baking, and Playball with Coach Anthony.
